5 million and counting: how we reached another amazing milestone
Sometimes, the numbers speak for themselves. Recently we processed our 5 millionth device – a testament to the rising demand for high-quality, second-life technology, and of course to our brilliant Alchemists.
Through the renewal of these devices, including over 4 million smartphones and 370,000 laptops, we’ve been able to prevent over 342,200 tonnes of CO2 emissions. By investing in refurbished devices, businesses and consumers are joining us in paving the way towards a more sustainable future for tech.
But we couldn’t have reached the new landmark without our people. This year, we’ve expanded our team by 70%, adding 92 new specialists across our 14 facilities worldwide. As we’ve focused on building a circular tech economy, that’s meant creating new employment opportunities in countries like the UAE, the USA, Australia and South Korea.
Our new facilities in Dubai and Miami have allowed us to refresh an additional 1 million devices a year, preventing a further 69,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions from being produced. All of which has seen us grow by 687% since we started - and seen us recognised as the 11th fastest-growing tech company in Ireland in Deloitte’s recent Fast 50 awards.
