What attracted you to Alchemy Global Solutions?

Several things. It's an innovative company, and the way Alchemy creates software and services to break down the barriers to making desirable used technology accessible was appealing. So was the fact that, as an organisation, it's having a positive impact on the environment.

What do you bring to the role?

Prior to joining Alchemy Global Solutions, I was responsible for the worldwide IT functions at a global technology provider and, before that, was head of IT service delivery for one of the most recognisable brands in mobile communications and productivity. For much of my career I've been focused on deploying scalable, enterprise-ready services.

But, as well as Fortune 50 businesses, I've worked at start-ups, all of which means I have broad experience, gained at organisations of all sizes. I can use much of this at Alchemy Global Solutions, where we're taking on larger players, successfully, by using technology as a differentiator.

Do you have a typical day?

Part of my role is to ensure our technology roadmap is aligned with the business roadmap and strategy, and that each of our platforms is serving our customers' needs as best it can.

That means every day can be different. Although the roadmap for each of our products guides us over the longer term; it's vital that we are making sure we are simultaneously fine-tuning it to the changing needs of the business and the market. While there is a long-term plan and goal, the process by which we go about achieving it can evolve day to day.

Has there been a highlight of your time at Alchemy Global Solutions?

We work with some of the biggest and best-known mobile device manufacturers and network operators in the world, and our ability to integrate with their processes – exceeding their expectations and out-performing their other partners – has been a highlight.

We have exciting plans for the future, and we're working on Software as a Service platforms that will help our customers to better integrate with our systems. We'll also be introducing innovative new technologies to our technology stack, which will make our processes even more intelligent going forward.
